Wireless burglar alarms afford the convenience of zero wiring. Traditional alarms have a mesh of wires criss-crossing the unit and the walls. In addition, wires were clearly visible to intruders and burglars who could easily disable the device.

Wireless alarms use a  series of innovative technologies. Two of the most predominant are infrared, and radio waves. Laser technology is also catching on but is still very costly.
